At Peace

Hi All,

This is the blog that I've dreaded for the past year. Andy passed away this morning, with Jen and Mom at his side. It was very peaceful, a few breaths and then he was taken.

We spent the day with him, with family and some close friends coming in. We cried, laughed and helped each other, I imagine there will be much more of that in the coming days.

We are planning on having visiting hours Friday afternoon / evening and a service on Saturday morning in Framingham. I will post the information after we meet with the funeral home tomorrow.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the love, and good memories, and hope you provided for us and for Andy this past year. It's been wonderful these past days to read messages of hope and thanks and love to Andy and read them for ourselves.

Rest peacefully Andy.

We will always love you.

Tim

  6. I am so sorry to hear this news. I have been following this blog for a while. Andy was so lucky to have such great love and support around him. I remember him from my childhood as a really good kid and from what I hear he was a great adult. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and that you can find the strength to get through this.

  7. Andy was a great guy and will always be remembered fondly, even though he had so much on his plate with the cancer he maintained a positive attitude and i think that shows the strength and courage he displayed this past year. Growing up Jen was Aunt Jenny to me even though we have no blood relation and she still is and after meeting Andy and watching them two at their wedding with all the love both families possessed it was definite that Andy was the right guy for her. Here in Irvine we've been keeping up with the blog and sending all of our thoughts and prayers. Andy's will to live and fearlessness provides inspiration to us all, I wish the best to Jenny and Nicholas and all the family and friends who supported him throughout this endeavor. Hopefully the tests and work done with Andy will provide much needed information to treat other cancer patients in the future.
R.I.P. Andy we will always love and miss you

  8. I'm so sorry to learn about Andy's passing. Lung cancer is such a devestating disease- another father, brother, and son is gone way before his time. As you said so eloquently on your facebook page it is with Hope that someday we will be able to fully treat this disease. I keep thinking about how our paths crossed at DFCI. I'm honored to have met Andy and watched the amazing film about his life at the LCFA screening. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time.

  10. We are so deeply saddened to learn of Andy's passing. Although we only met him a few times, it was clear from each and every encounter what a special, fine, wonderful young man he was. We have been praying all year that a miracle would free him from this awful disease and that he and you, his family would eventually find victory in his courageous fight against cancer. Our hearts and prayers are with you Jen, Nicholas,Bob,Irene,Tim, and all who knew and loved Andy. We know how heavy your hearts must be at this difficult time.

  14. As Tim has put it ...it is surreal. I was at AREA 9 's production office last night and half expected Andy to reply to my thoughts. It seems like just yesterday he was sitting there telling me of his plans for his new script...He was sooo excited, as he always was to share with me. I couldn't wait to read it! WE called this one "The Letters". We talked about a couple of films that his was going to be in the vain of. You should have seen that sparkle in his eyes as he spoke about it. No matter how far he got in writing this I know he loved every minute of working on it. His enthusiasm and passion for filmmaking is contagious. His will to live his dreams and his life to the fullest is inspiring! Andy, Jen and Nicholas you have all touched my life and the lives of my family (Al, HannaH and Stone). You are an amazing family. We are grateful to call you our friends. You are all like family to us! This year has been a ride ...one most of us would not have chosen had it not been for our dear friend Andy. They say a friend in need is a friend in deed. Those of us who did choose to take this ride with Andy, Jen, Nicholas and the rest of his family are better for it! We will continue to work on Andy's films to bring them to life. Andy's spirit will live forever in our hearts, our minds and on the screen. Sincerely and with much Love!
